The house
The arches are the reason we bought it. They were shaped on site in 1968 and no two of them match — you notice it about an hour in, usually with a coffee, standing where the breezeway turns.
Everything inside came from somewhere. Rugs from Oaxaca, brass from Marrakech, ceramics from Mexico City, a few things off the swap meet on Twentynine Palms Highway. Nothing was bought in a set.

Same house, same calendar, no platform service fee on top. You get the direct line, the early check-in when we can give it, and a person who answers.
Availability & rates
Two-night minimum. Three on holiday weekends. In after 4pm, out by 11am.
Before you book
Rabbits at dawn, coyotes at dusk, the occasional lizard who reads an open door as an invitation. Shake out your shoes. Close the screen. The nights are black, the quiet is total, and the nearest streetlight is a long way from here — that is the amenity. If that sounds like a problem, we're honestly not your house. If it sounds like the whole point: welcome.
Shoots & productions
The arches throw hard shapes across the plaster from about seven in the morning until mid-morning, and again from four o'clock until the sun drops behind the Bullions. The corral gives you a clean horizon in three directions and nothing in frame you'd have to paint out.

Crews over 25 need county sign-off, which takes about two weeks. Ask early.
Gatherings
Elopements, birthdays, a workshop, a wake. By approval, with a stay attached, and within what the county allows. We'll tell you straight away if the answer is no.
The desert
Flamingo Heights sits between Yucca Valley and Landers — darker, quieter and further out than the listings that just say "Joshua Tree," and one minute from the best restaurant in the high desert.

Four or five notes a year. Cancellations, the shoulder weeks worth taking, and the occasional photograph of the corral at dusk.
