Seven Arches

The walls

The art here is about here.

Every piece hanging in this house was made by its owner — hand-cut collage and mixed media, built from the same desert you're looking at through the arches. Gold Joshua trees, monumental rock, a small figure somewhere in the frame. You're sleeping inside the subject.

Deliver Me — hand-cut collage of a Joshua Tree desert landscape with gold Joshua trees, a monumental red and violet boulder, and a kneeling figure

Deliver Me

Hangs in the long room

A figure kneels at the base of something enormous and geological, surrounded by Joshua trees rendered in gold leaf. The sky is cut from a dozen separate papers. Stand close and the mountain stops being a mountain.

Dimensions, year, edition size and prices for both works — plus the correct title for the second piece. And confirm which room each one actually hangs in; I've guessed.

Untitled — hand-cut collage of a blue and violet boulder formation with gold Joshua trees against a mottled blue sky

Untitled (Blue Monument)

Hangs in bedroom one

The same desert in a colder key — the rock face reading blue and violet against a sky flecked with red. Two Joshua trees in gold hold the left and right edges. A figure sits at the lower right, easy to miss, which is the point.

Joshua Tree

Hangs by the kitchen

A banded sun going down in six colours, ruled lines radiating out to the border, and the name of the place cut by hand along the bottom. It belongs to a series of desert prints, and it's the one guests most often photograph on the way out.

Taking one home

Three ways, one of them free.

Guests get a standing discount on any print, because you've already lived with the work for three days — which is more than any gallery can offer.

I

Scan the card

There's a small card beside each piece in the house. Scan it and you land on that exact work, with your guest discount already applied.

II

Order a print

Archival pigment prints in three sizes, signed and numbered, shipped rolled from California. Framing is on you — most people do it locally.

III

Ask about the original

Most of what's on these walls is one of one and most of it is for sale. Write and ask. The reply comes from the person who made it.

The whole body of work

There's a great deal more than what fits on four walls.

The full catalogue — desert work, beach work, narrative work — lives at SUPERSUN and harry.art. Everything ordered anywhere ships from the same studio.
